    Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

At the end of the EYFS, the teaching team make final assessment of the children and determine which children have achieved a good level of development (GLD).

Children are defined as having reached a GLD  at the end of the EYFS if they have achieved at least the expected level for the Early Learning Goals (ELGs) in the prime areas of learning and the specific areas of mathematics and literacy. The ELGs are: communication and language; physical development; personal, social and emotional development (PSED); literacy; maths; understanding the world and expressive arts and design.

    Key Stage 1 Comparative Report

N.B. As of the 2023/24 academic year there was no longer an expectation that Year 2 children undertook statutory assessments (SATs) in reading and mathematics. In addition, pupil outcomes for Year 2 are no longer reportable to the Local Authority or DfE. However, Year 2 children at Dudley Infant Academy undertook the optional SATs that were made available to schools. Teachers at Dudley also utilised the Teacher Assessment Framework (TAF) to help inform their end of year pupil attainment and progress assessments.

The information below allows you to compare your child’s performance across reading, writing and  mathematics with their peers and also against national data for 2025. Teacher assessment outcomes take into account the results of the non-statutory national curriculum tests (SATs) in reading and mathematics, and attainment in relation to the optional Year 2 Teacher Assessment Framework (TAF).
